Depression - Depression as a common emotional phenomenon should be differentiated from depression as a disorder. Depressive disorder not only includes sad mood, but it involves reduction of interest/activity as well as negativity of thought. And it persists for a longer duration unlike a reactive sadness of mood which is easily overcome. Medications alongwithpsychotherapy is the mainstay of treatment.

Mania- Quite opposite to depression, a person in manic phase is unusually cheerful, over active, boastful, making big plans with reduced need for sleep. Patient is reportedly ‘unlike his usual self’. Medications and therapy are essential.

Bipolar Mood Disorder- Bipolar disorder, formerly called manic depression, is a mental health condition that causes extreme mood swings that include emotional highs (mania or hypomania) and lows (depression).

Schizophrenia- Schizophrenia is a chronic brain disorder that affects less than one percent of the U.S. population. When schizophrenia is active, symptoms can include delusions, hallucinations, trouble with thinking and concentration, and lack of motivation. However, with treatment, most symptoms of schizophrenia will greatly improve.

Dementia- Dementia describes a group of symptoms affecting memory, thinking and social abilities severely enough to interfere with your daily life. It isn't a specific disease, but several different diseases may cause dementia.

Seizure Disorder- A seizure is a sudden, uncontrolled electrical disturbance in the brain. It can cause changes in your behavior, movements or feelings, and in levels of consciousness. If you have two or more seizures or a tendency to have recurrent seizures, you have epilepsy.

Different Types of Headache- A headache can be a sign of stress or emotional distress, or it can result from a medical disorder, such as migraine or high blood pressure, anxiety, or depression. It can lead to other problems. People with chronic migraine headaches, for example, may find it hard to attend work or school regularly.

Unexplained Pain Disorder- Conditions such as dyspareunia, somatization disorder, conversion disorder, or mood disorders can eliminate pain disorder as a diagnosis. ... There are, however, authors who propose that the diagnosis for unexplained pain should be adjustment disorder because it does not pathologize individuals with this medical condition.

Gastrointestinal Disorder Symptoms- Gastrointestinal disorders include such conditions as constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, hemorrhoids, anal fissures, perianal abscesses, anal fistulas, perianal infections, diverticular diseases, colitis, colon polyps and cancer. Many of these can be prevented or minimized by maintaining a healthy lifestyle, practicing good bowel habits, and submitting to cancer screening.

Anxiety Disorders- Experiencing occasional anxiety is a normal part of life. However, people with anxiety disorders frequently have intense, excessive and persistent worry and fear about everyday situations. Often, anxiety disorders involve repeated episodes of sudden feelings of intense anxiety and fear or terror that reach a peak within minutes (panic attacks).

Child Psychiatric Disorders- Mental illness in children can be hard for parents to identify. As a result, many children who could benefit from treatment don't get the help they need. Understand the warning signs of mental illness in children and how you can help your child cope.

Substance Induced Mental Disorder- Substance-induced disorders are conditions or illnesses that are caused by substance use. They are different from “co-occurring” or “dual diagnosis” substance use disorders in that the mental impairment is not present in conjunction with a substance use disorder (as found in cases of co-occurring conditions), but it is instead directly caused by the substance use itself.

Various Combinations of Mental Disorders- They are generally characterized by a combination of abnormal thoughts, perceptions, emotions, behaviour and relationships with others. Mental disorders include: depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and other psychoses, dementia, and developmental disorders including autism.
